The Canal in Autumn's Glory

Fall shows its colors along the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail which, after nearly a century of neglect, has been restored in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Once used by barge pulling mules, the towpath is now the most popular trail in the park. Hikers, bikers, and joggers on the nearly level towpath may enjoy cool woodlands, misty beaver ponds, fields of wildflowers, colorful fall foliage, wildlife, canal era ruins, and panoramic views of the Cuyahoga River.
