Winter on the Cuyahoga River

The Cuyahoga River flows the entire length of the thirty-three thousand acre Cuyahoga Valley National Park. As the seasons pass, the river becomes a kaleidoscope of changing beauty. Fall foliage season is the most brilliant when red and golden maples reflect on the river. Early winter brings soft mist and fog which completely transforms the river into a landscape of mystery. Colder winter nights create sparkling ice crystals on everything near the river, and the gentle warmth of spring and summer brings forth fragrant wildflowers. Along the river trails, spellbinding sunrises are frequently observed by early-rising visitors.
